Last weekend Chilly Mountain hosted the first North American Heroes of the Storm LAN that has taken place since 2018. The event was a reunion of tons of fan favorites from the old days of the HGC. Khaldor, Michael Udall, Yusuf “Kure” Sunka, just to name a few.
The event took place in Miami, Florida and represented a clash between the best of Europe versus the best of North America. Viewership for the Miami LAN was particularly strong for a Heroes of the Storm; event reaching over 50,000 total viewers across all channels. At the end of the day Team WAH, from Europe took home the bulk of the $5,000 prize pool.
Online tournaments have done the job for the Heroes of the Storm for the past several years, but Esports are meant to be played in-person. It was an excellent chance to see the world’s best Heroes of the Storm players duke it out on LAN.
